This seminar provides an overview of professional pathways for civil, construction, and mechanical engineering students, highlighting the key steps toward licensure, including the FE and PE exams. Participants will learn about the value of EIT certification, PE License, and professional resources offered by organizations such as ASCE and ASME, including mentorship programs, salary tools, and membership benefits. The session aims to guide students from academic preparation to professional practice.

Houston Build Expo 2026 – Key Industry Event

The Houston Build Expo, scheduled for August 12–13, 2026, at NRG Park (Hall D), Houston, TX, will bring together hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of professionals from the fields of architecture, engineering, general contracting, building materials, and design. The event provides valuable opportunities for Construction Engineering students to engage with industry professionals, explore internship and co-op prospects, and gain insight into emerging trends shaping the construction sector. Faculty members and industry partners may benefit from access to the latest innovations, supply-chain solutions, and continuing-education sessions on automation, sustainability, and process improvements. Further details regarding UH Katy CNE’s planned participation and potential group visit will be announced in the coming months.
